Some elderly people can get confused about where they are if they're placed in a home. If they're well enough, I think home care is a great option. People feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings. http://comforcare.com/california/san-fernando-valley
This looks like a great preparation for any family dealing with Senior Care. I remember when my grandparents were first put into a Senior Care Home. I think I am going to find a lot of good information from all of these posts. My family is looking for a place that does senior in home care .This should give us an idea as to what we can expect.
Is it living to be on 15 meds a day? I understand we want people to stay with us forever, but I don't want them in pain the whole time. At that point I feel it becomes selfish.

There are some really great senior care services out there and more people need to realize that. If more people realized how much these services were, they would get help. It truly is an amazing service that people are willing to help the elderly.

Independence has to be encouraged. Even if only a small amount of the activity can be undertaken by the patient, it all helps toward promoting self worth and maintaining an independent lifestyle.
It is nice to see that independence is encouraged. This seems like a good idea; you can never be too prepared. There are situations where you know a loved one will probably need to go to a hospital in the future. It only makes sense to have them prepared as much as possible for a day if they need to go to the hospital quickly.

I think my grandma could really benefit from this. I'll have to help her with the computer though. She doesn't want to learn how to use them. I don't mind helping her though, it's nice to be able to spend time with her.
